- Sox sign Bartolo Colon to a minor league contract. How does this not make sense? He stinks - no big deal. He's great - Sox are unbeatable.
- Pats waive Colvin as a cap casualty. What? A team that's already thin (and old) at linebacker cuts one of its youngest and best linebackers (Adelius Thomas being the other?) I know he's had injury problems but how about we try and restructure his contract?

I like the Colon deal too... No brainer. It's likely he'll end up spending too much time eating fried food and chilling on the couches at the Foxy Lady to make a difference for the hometown team, but what the hell.. it's worth a shot.
I'll bet the Pats re-sign Colvin tomorrow. They cut him to free up $7.6m in cap space and then sign him to a more realistic salary given his age and injury problems. I think this is the only way to get this done within the current rules
Jim - I was wondering if that might be the case with Colvin. I'd love to see them re-up him at a lesser salary. When healthy, the guys a beast!
Regarding Colon, maybe the Sox could get Mo Vaughn to take out a restraining order against him. That would definitely keep Colon away from the Foxy Lady! LOL
