Big hint: the first guy on the list is right at home on this blog.
Based on the hint, I would have to say Yaz. And why is it when I google Yaz, I only get birth control information. Who can spell Yastrzemski?
Here's a few more: Brooks Robinson, Andre Dawson and the big cheat, Barry Bonds.
How about Carl Yastrzemski, Cap Anson, Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield, Ricky Henderson?
For the record both Yaz and Ricky would feel comfortable on this blog.
Eddie Collins just barely missed the cut with one season (of 25) with more than 199 hits (224). He had one 198 and two 194 hit seasons too.
Willie Mays is another one that sneaks by with just one season with 199+ hits (208 in 1958).
I need to get a job. :-)
Funny, I would have guessed Cal Ripken would make the list but I guess he managed to crank out a couple 200+ hit seasons.
Jim nailed it. Warren was just a little low with the totals for Robinson, Dawson, and Bonds.
I shouldn't admit this, but I had some help from Mr. Baseball Almanac. My encyclopedic knowledge of MLB facts was lost during the Y2K meltdown.
Ricky agrees, Ricky is comfortable on this blog. Ricky knows what it's like to be comfortable on a blog, Ricky is the king of bloggering. Ricky is the best at blogging and commeting on bloggering.
Hey Rickey - I can't believe you feel for the old "banana in the tailpipe" trick. Your name is spelled "Rickey", I just screwed it up in my comment earlier.
