"The Bat," which belongs in a third rate amusement park, not a MLB stadium; and Monument Park, probably the only thing worth saving but it's a museum anyways - I don't think anyone would mind a new place to put the monuments.

Beau - thanks for reminding me of the scene I had scorched out of my brain, the grounds crew doing the YMCA dance movements.adamcohenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03637344107273278348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29213404.post-17749811353179140622008-07-27T14:37:00.000-04:002008-07-27T14:37:00.000-04:00Great points Adam. For a place that prides itself on history and tradition, all the sound effects, awful music and scoreboard animations seemed really out of place. And don't even get me started on the whole YMCA thing.Beau Colburnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16543427874360144316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29213404.post-33522061235247852312008-07-23T22:11:00.000-04:002008-07-23T22:11:00.000-04:00Adam - truer words were never spoken. I went to Yankee Stadium a few years ago (the Sox got smushed because DLowe had been out the night before drinking and only lasted two innings) and I remember feeling underwhelmed. The only thing that impressed me was being in a place that had witnessed so many championships, kind of like the old Boston Garden.

It will be good to see the "House that Ruth Built" fall to the wrecking ball. Maybe all that mystique will go up in dust along with it! ;)

Best,
Aaron | @astroutAaron_Strouthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964204478772858370noreply@blogger.com
